STANDING ORDERS

Standing orders are supplied by us for children’s new books, hardbacks, paperbacks, fiction, non-fiction, series, board books, picture books, etc.

To source new titles for standing orders, we use information from private publishing databases, as well as commercially produced listings of what is new and expected. We are in monthly contact with all the major distributors of children’s books in Australia, who represent English language publishers around the world. Educon has access to details including jackets and mock-ups of new titles that are in preparation. Our own exclusive agency titles can also be acquired on standing order.

Standing orders can be placed according to very detailed specifications, such as for named authors or subjects. A library can also place a standing order for genres or formats, e.g. all big books or all non-fiction on a chosen subject, or all new titles in a series.

Standing orders are supplied as soon as they come into our warehouse. The system offers a time-efficient way of acquiring titles that a library knows it will definiately want for its collection.
